For indoor domestic use. A staircase and its balustrade are structural, safety-critical elements and must be installed by a competent fitter to the applicable building rules — fixed securely to the floors and the wall, designed for the load, with the handrail height, the balustrade and the gaps between spindles or panels meeting the regulations so a child cannot fall or slip through. Keep the treads clean and slip-resistant, do not modify the structure or the fixings, and do not exceed the stated load. Installation is a multi-person job and, for a load-bearing or cantilever stair, is best engineered and fitted by a professional. CE marked where applicable.
